I have years of experience in fundraising; I started writing funding bids in the late 1990s. Firstly, on a personal basis to charities and trusts to enable me to fund my education, and then for freelance projects and more recently to enable me to exhibit my own artwork internationally. I now consult on and write large successful bids for art galleries, museums and community organisations. I’m one of those odd people who likes writing funding bids, seeing them as an opportunity to make something new and exciting happen.
Before working in culture, I worked in banking and finance, first for Barclays bank in the clearing department and then in the fraud department, and later as Assistant Credit Controller for an import and distribution agency. I am lucky to have the experience of both the finance and cultural worlds.
I fundraise on a freelance basis If you would like fundraising advice or consultancy contact me on info [at] debbiecooper [dot] org
